Presented for the 1st time in 2021, the Dodge Durango SRT Hellcat met with astounding success with performance SUV amateurs. What was supposed to be a special edition reserved for the 2021 model-year (it had been removed from the catalog in 2022), it is now back for 2023, due to popular demand for this model.

We tell you all you need to know about the Durango SRT Hellcat; and you’ll understand why it is so popular!

At first glance, the Dodge Durango SRT Hellcat is not much different from the other Durango trims, other than the SRT Hellcat logo on the wings and oversized Brembo brakes (6 pistons in the front, 4 pistons in the back).

In fact, just like all of the other vehicles that have received the SRT Hellcat name, like the Charger and the Challenger, the Dodge Durango stands out from the rest of the Durango models due to phenomenal power. In fact, while all standard trims of the Durango already offer interesting levels of performance –like with powertrains that provide you with between 295 and 475 horsepower, depending on selected model-, the Durango SRT Hellcat is equipped with the powerful 6.2 L turbocharged V8 with no less than 710 horsepower and 645 lb-ft. maximum torque.

In concrete terms, this means that it pulverizes the 0-97 km/hr (0-60 mph) in only 3.5 seconds and the quarter mile in 11.5 seconds, for a top speed of 290 km/hr. When taking into account that this is a 3- row SUV, this is truly exceptional! Moreover, the Durango SRT Hellcat is not only the most powerful Durango to date, but also the fastest, the most powerful and the most performant 3- row SUV in North America.

On top of offering absolutely insane cavalry, the Durango SRT Hellcat is standard equipped with an extremely performant all-wheel drive system. Moreover, it provides you with a towing capacity that is at the top of its category, with 8,700 pounds; it also offers the highest payload for a Durango, with 1,590 pounds.

Inside, thanks to the generous dimensions, there is enough space to seat up to 7- passengers in complete comfort. You will also have access to cargo space that varies between 481 and 2,407 liters, depending on if 2nd and 3rd rows of seats are folded down or not.

Amongst the interior features you will find on board, you will have Nappa leather upholstered seats with red accents, headed front seats, the UConnect5 system with 10.1- inch touch screen a 506 W Alpine sound system ( a 825 W Harman Kardon sound system is available with the Plus package), and much more.

To this day, Dodge has yet to reveal prices for the 2023 Durango Hellcat; but to give you an idea, back in 2021 it sold for $ 121,415. It should become available over the course of the next few weeks, but in limited quantities. And since SRT Hellcat heat engines will soon be disappearing, this is your last chance to get your hands on one of these powerful SUVs; don’t miss out!
