Are you trembling with impatience at the idea of getting behind the wheel of the very first 100 % electric RAM 1500? Your dream will soon become reality, as it will become available in Canada over the course of the next few months, as a 2024 model!
In fact, the manufacturer has just revealed its RAM 1500 Revolution this past January 3rd, during the CES (Consumer Electronic Show) in Las Vegas. One thing is for sure: it is truly unique and it will have everyone talking! From first glance, it is easy to see that its stunning design is light years away from its main rivals like the Ford F-150 Lightning, the Sierra EV or the Chevrolet Silverado EV, with a silhouette that only offers slight differences from its traditional fuel counterparts. And although the model presented is only a concept, the manufacturer ensures that the production model with be very close to the prototype.
The RAM 1500 Revolution boasts luminous RAM emblems on the front doors and radiator grille; these emblems are also animated, which already serves to differentiate it from its rivals. Amongst other things, we also quickly notice an incredibly aerodynamic silhouette, LED headlights split into two horizontal lines that form a sort of fork, along with pivoting towing hooks and a protective plate at the front. Finally, the concept has 24- inch wheels, mounted with 35- inch tires, although we still do not know if these dimensions will be found on the production model.
Even though features like power and range have yet to be revealed, Stellantis ensures that the RAM 1500 Revolution will be way ahead of its category when it comes to towing capacity, range and necessary charging times, amongst other things.
What we do know, however, is that the electric RAM will be equipped with 2 motors and 4-wheel drive, along with an 800 volt electric architecture. This means that you will only need around 10 minutes to charge –when on a 350 kW charging station- in order to recuperate 160 kilometers of autonomy.
Finally, the concept RAM 1500 Revolution will include features such as pivoting front seats, two 14.2- inch touch screens including one that can be removed and used as a tablet, head-up display with augmented reality, and much more. However, we still do not know which features will be present on the production model.
